GUT FEELING

I thought the sentiments posted on Sundays Turrfontein's thread is worthy to be a stand alone thread. Apologies that I will be long winded.

I called this thread 'GUT FEELING". My reason is that this game is not an exact science other wise just study co-latreral form and times and a Race will become very predictable.

What must be kept in mind is that this is a multi million rand industry, betting wise, and there are a lot of people that have invested heavely in it by way of ownership and their livelyhood (Trainers & Jocks). Look at the payouts of any bet type and it is seldom that you just get your money back, except for a sratched horse or a 3/10 shot for a place.

I am in total agreement with Englander's sentiments wrt the ride of SK and the poor performance of Robbie Fradd's mount in the last race. Now looking at the Card IMO the upset was in the later races therefore my GUT FEELING was that G J Maroun would win the R8 and therfore try to win R9 as well, with a Horse with not to shabbty form. Refer to my post where I mentioned that NATIONAL BOUNTY was a PA banker, at 25/1 at the time. So it worked this time which is not always the case.

Without any TRANSPARENCY or Stable info all we have is GUT FEELING so I say yes Englander go with your observation and GUT FEELING, but only in certain races as FORM does work sometime.
