"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Monday 3rd March Workings....
17 years 3 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 2.64 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.64. The lay was nicely beaten, and so a good result........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.97 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.8. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.32 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.1 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.4 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.26 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.26. The lay was beaten and so a good result......
The 5th runner we wanted 3.2, and with being that and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.5, before going back in again, so a fluctuating market, and a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten after a battle, so a good result......
The 6th runner was withdrawn, so on to the next runner....
The 7th runner we wanted 2.32, and with drifting to around 2.38 on arrival and then dropping back down to us, we had a lay at 2.32. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.625 and beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.96, and with being around 2.86 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.86. The lay went and won, and showed he's still improving well, so hats off as made me look a mug, but the way it goes.......
The 9th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being a well supported 2.66 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.66. The lay was beaten, and so a good result......
The 10th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.98 on arrival and only coming down to 1.82 rock bottom, we never see a penny matched at our lay price, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so good discipline and guys, and a good leave......
The 11th and final runner, we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.8 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, it was another race to avoid for all. The runnerm ran a poor race, so one that got away in hindsight, and the drift more than justified.......
WELL PLAYED...........
'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) hit 2 targets..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner)...................They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 4th runner, and hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 5th runner)...........Then they started their 3rd strategy/target on the 7th runner, and with breaking level on their 3rd lay (the 9th runner), and then finding they had just one potential lay left, it's always advised to take the levels and walk when no room at all for error, so they finish this strategy/target level..............So a 2 target win on the session and day......
Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.64, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets............They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) 1.8, but a poor result see them give most back............They then had a 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that bought a tiny profit................Then came their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.26, and a good result see them hit their targets.......

Traders had to concede a bit on the 8th runner at 2.86, and my fault entirely guys as I didn't expect to see that much improvement from the horse, so my fault entirely and apologies. All other trades see them win, or break level, so in the end they won a little and so well played...
So builders didn't hang about and got the job done with ease, and rollers gained a couple and so they walk away happy too. Well played guys and speak in the morning..
Marc.

2.10 Lingfield. SILENT MASTER (1.97)
Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

Our price 13/8 (2.625) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.32 or under. *Traders please note that now down in trip and from a good draw, Seb 'may' take him to the front, or race very prominent early on*
3.10 Lingfield. THOUGHTS-OF-STARDOM (3.1)
Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.2 or under. *Traders be aware that he has a tendency to sometimes pull a bit, which takes him to race prominent in his races*
3.20 Wolverhampton. GIVEN A CHOICE (1.64)
Our price 4/6 (1.67) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.44 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
3.30 Stratford. MANHATTAN BOY (2.22)

4.40 Lingfield. OPUS MAXIMUS (1.95)
Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Solid debut effort, and although just off the pace then, Mark Johnston's runners can tend to make the running 'if' feeling confident of staying well, so traders be aware of that*
4.50 Wolverhampton. PAUL THE CARPET (3.5)
Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.3 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he tends to lead, or race prominent in his races*
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:16 am
That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Never easy, and this session certainly no exception to that, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon...
