SUBJECT: Western Cape TAB accounts to be transferred to Phumelela

On Tuesday 3 September all Gold Circle TAB accounts in the Western Cape
will be transferred to Phumelela TAB.
This follows the final approval from the Western Cape Gambling Board for
Phumelela to manage horseracing and betting in the region on behalf of
Kenilworth Racecourse.
The move will result in certain changes to every account.
*From 3 September all account numbers will be increased to six digits
starting with a “5”. Zeros will be added after the 5 where necessary to
lengthen the number. For example, account No 1234 will now become account
No 501234.
This will enable all account holders to continue to bet as normal.
*Pin numbers will remain unchanged but account holders are advised to
change their internet pin numbers from 3 September.
*Telebet clients must call 0861 000 822 to bet – NB: the existing Western
Cape number will be terminated from 3 September.
*Banking details for deposits will change on 3 September. See

i got a call yesterday from a lady (Suleika) explaining the whole story to me. Seemed very nice, but i haven't used my account for years now. Cant she see that? Anyway, i also foresee plenty problems and plenty phone calls from irate clients.......happy days

Despite one being 'forced' to be a Phumelela customer despite not wanting to be,one can in fact still have a tabgold account.

You simply ask them to email you an application form and you can do this from tomorrow.

I prefer the tabgold platform,and have decided to bet with them just on the principle of Phumelela trying to dictate to me.

I would encourage everyone to do what JAP has done

I got a call from P on monday last week to tell me that my account would be getting moved.I told the lady that I consider their platform for betting to be poor and that I had certain issues that I would like to discuss with someone involved with the tech department.She took the details of the best time to call me and assured me that she would get someone to call.

Needless to say it's a week later,the call has not materialized and my account is being moved to P land in the morning.

My withdrawal request should hit their site about 3 seconds after the account has been opened.

Their arrogance is surpassed only by their incompetence!
