Hibs - with regards to your question on Politician - he ran 31 times to win 18 races and was placed 9 times - Bert Hayden rode him every time he won or was placed - I am not sure if any other jocks rode him in any of his unplaced runs - will check.

Politician debuted on 05/06/76 finishing 2nd in a 1600m maiden plate at Greyville starting joint favourite at 16/10. He won his won his first race on 07/07/76 at Greyville over 2000m in a handicap carrying 51kg starting at 22/10 second favourite. He won his 2nd race on 31/7/76 over 2100m carrying 54kg starting at 4/10. He won his 3rd race over 1900m carrying 57kg on 07/08/76 starting at 1/3. All these races after his maiden were handicaps at Greyville and he was ridden by Bert Hayden on each occasion.
He was then rested and brought back to run 4th twice at Clairwood on 03/11/76 and 13/11/76 over 1000m and 1200m respectively ridden by Brian Deyes on both occasions - these were prep runs for his trip to the Cape - I think that Bert Hayden rode him in the balance of his races.

Hibs - no - not sure where he is now - he was seriously injured at Clairwood when the horse he was riding tried to jump the inside running rail in the straight at Clairwood - I think that he had to pack up as a result of his injuries?

@Hibs - I'm afraid Brian Deyes committed suicide.
