Little Willy and other horses names

Good horses (heroes) all seem to have good names Galileo, Frankel, etc., etc. - pity some people tend belittle the horse with names like Pig and other equally diabolical names.

There was a horse that raced in the seventies called Little Willy - anyone know who it was named after?

There was a runner in Aus today A Loan Again has to be a story behind that name..locally some cleverly named horses Charles Fortune was Commentary-Treasure Path and Radio Five Commentary-Half Ten...

I remember how much people overseas liked JJ the Jet Plane's name ... it caused a fair bit of comment, especially from those who had grown up with the original kiddies TV series about Jay Jay the Jet Plane ... and other machinery like the tank engine (what was it's name again?).

More recently I was looking for info on Soft Falling Rain, and noticed how many bloggers said of that one also "what a nice name!"
