TRAGEDY OF NOW; NOT TRUE?

The tragedy of our open society' the Constitutional 'sanctities' of individuals/minorities and the farcical 'rainbow nation' dream (that's what it really is!), is that, we are a more divided, suspicious and dominated people tham durimg the apartheid days!


Not true?


Well, during those good old days', when I walked into a Government office or local municipality, there was nary an Indian, African or Coloured/Khoisan in sight. The same with local and chain stores; the only black you saw was the cleaner or labourer.


(* Remember the 'hatch' at the back of the Poruguese/Greek cafes where they served you as a black?)


The drivers of public transport were white. In the banks, you stood separated by a high divider with queues for whites and 'others'. If there were 20 blacks and 5 whites, the whites were attended to first!


Then of course, the trains with their 1st, 2nd and 3rd class compartments; lifts in public buildings (private ones did not allow you in!), for 'blacks and goods'?


Even benches in parks were boldly (and proudly) painted 'Nie blankies!


Then, if you walked on the pavement (Indians were not allowed on Bloemfontein streets!), you had to make way for a white...whether male, female or a kid.


Yes, those were the 'good old days'!


Today, when I walk into Government departments, there is nary a white, Indian or Coloured/Khoisan in sight. So with Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Makro, etc.


On the road, I have to make way for the taxis...no guess as to who drives it! I also got to watch how I comment / criticise most of the standard of service, arrogance and downright racism of civil employees......... like the foreigners (especially the Somalis, Pakis and Indians), I will be told to go back to India, Europe, Pakistan, Somalia....) , depending on what I am seen / suspected of being; Indian, White or Cloured/Khoisan!


That, despite the reality that I am born and bred in this country LEGALLY, the Constitution and the internationally plugged 'miracle' of a Rainbow Nation!


People (I don't care which side you on!); we need to catch a wake up! Our country is fast deteriorating into a morass of not just racial hatred and mistrust, but the morphing sequel of factionalism, religious dogma and tribalism is growing on us by the day.


Soon, instead of Indians, whites and coloureds/Khoisan, they will be turning onto and devouring one another; isn't it happening already with EFF, COSATU, Marikana, etc?


As a former activist (it was all of Indians, Colureds/Khoisan, whites and Africans), I am placing my faith in South Africa First.... the first party that acknowledges that BEE, self-entitlement and racism have been fomented and promoted over the past 20 years to protect those at the trough!


I trust that I am right?

The ANC promised during apartheid to make the country ungovernable and, now that they are in power, they are reaping what they sowed.

You can't just switch people on and off like light bulbs.

I had a customer that came into the pub and after one of my waitresses had given him good service and he got pissed asked me where did you find the "fuckin K waitress's"
I told him that she is trying to pay for herself to get through university and her mum is a domestic servant
Plus I told him to fuck off the racist bastard and will never put a foot inside my pub again
