"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 6th March Workings...
17 years 3 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows.......
The 1st runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.68 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay was given too much to do, and finished an ever closing 2nd, so a good result.........
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.3, and with drifting to around 3.4 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay went and won, so unfortunate, but hats off and the way it goes.....
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so the way it goes again! Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.94, and with being around 2.78 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.78. The lay made the dd mistake early, never looked interested and was pulled up in the end! so a poor effort, but a good result.....
The 5th runner we wanted 2.0, and with drifting to around 2.08 on arrival and the dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay fell when looking beaten, so hope he's OK, but a good result financially.............
The 6th runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.45 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner came in a well beaten 2nd, so it was 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.9, and with drifting to around 3.5 on arrival and getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price and so a race to avoid. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but glad of the drift now and a good leave..........
The 8th runner was withdrawn, so on to the next runner.......
The 9th runner we wanted 1.03, and with being around 1.11 on arrival and just getting bigger and bigger, we never see anywhere near our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner fell when looking the sure winner, so no certainties in this game, one that got away in hindsight, and a big shock!........
The 10th runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 4.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.11 (3.1 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.5 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage, so we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a good leave.........
The 11th runner we wanted 2.8, but a non runner and 5.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.7. The price had drifted to around 2.88 on arrival, and only got bigger, so we never see our lay price again and a race to avoid. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave.......
The 12th runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.94 on arrival and then dropping down to us and very slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.......
The 13th and final runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 3.35 on arrival, just a bit of trading left on offer, and with being around 10 minutes to the race, I'm leaving it there, so good luck traders if you proceed..........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.......................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 3 from the first 7 (43%) went and won - and 5 from the 11 (45.5%) played - and so not easy, but we did a good enough job, so well played/battled)
'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) finished level................They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then after an early battle, they broke level quite easily really on their 5th lay (the 5th runner), so finish level.............They were then left with an insufficient amount left to start another strategy/target, so end the session level.......
Strategy/target players (bank builders) had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.5 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets...........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.3 max, but a poor result see them go a little behind.............They then had their 3rd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.2, and another poor result see them go a little more behind.................Then came their 4th lay (the 4th runner) at 2.78, and a good result see 4 runner builders break level, so they end the session level.........
5 runner builders still needed a little more to recoup, so went to their 5th lay (the 5th runner) at 2.0 max, and a good result see them recoup the little bit, so they ended level also.....
4 runner strategy (bank builders) £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

Total bank now £400

Traders had to concede a little on the 2nd runner at 3.3 max, but all others thus far have seen them win a bit, or break level, so good luck with the last runner...
So builders had an early battle, but only ever little bits behind and they broke level quite easily, so frustrating to not hit a target, but slowly and gradually is the way when building banks, and with 2 winning from 4 (50%) or 5 (40%) it's never a poor result to finish level. Rollers finished level after their first strategy/target, and that's where they had to leave it, so again not what they want, but levels never a bad result when early winners. Speak soon with this evening's workings.......
