The Hawks are on the lookout for "Molly"

The Hawks are on the lookout for "Molly" - the party drug touted as pure MDMA, the main ingredient of ecstasy.
Hawks spokesman Captain Paul Ramaloko said a crackdown on drug smuggling indicated that local drug-dealers were now making Molly in their labs, inspired by its popularity in the US.
He said that though the Hawks had reduced the number of drug couriers entering the country, the local manufacture of the drug was a threat.
"Molly is not yet prevalent but we must act against it now ," he said.
Molly - which has been popularised in songs by Kanye West, Madonna and Miley Cyrus - is a big part of the US club scene.
"The club scene is where you see the most amazing concoctions readily available," Ramaloko said.
"It is worrying because no one really knows what is going into those concoctions and they could be deadly."
Ramaloko said it was difficult to know whether the Molly being sold in South Africa was actually ecstasy.
"In America, it is not the same thing. One is pure MDMA, and the other is MDMA and other ingredients," he said.
National police spokesman Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale said ecstasy was linked to the rave and club scene in South Africa but use of the drug had diminished after 1994.
"It is much less popular than crystal methamphetamine [commonly known as Tik] or Cathinone [Cat]," he said.
Anti-Drug Alliance of SA founder Quintin van Kerken said MDMA can cause body temperature to increase. He said users would increase their intake of fluids to counter this effect but, because the drug causes greater water retention, over-hydration then becomes a risk.
"Combined with alcohol, MDMA might affect your kidneys. [It] will give you a high whereas alcohol acts as a depressant," he said.
He said that though the MDMA addiction rate was low users were in serious danger if they took an overdose.
"We really don't know if they are taking too much because the drug that you had last week might not contain the same amount of MDMA as the drug you are taking today," Van Kerken said.

These okes are slow and about 20 year too late..............
Molly or MDMA has been around for an awful long time and it isn't going anywhere soon.
The sooner drugs get legalized the better. Tax prostitution, drugs like cigarettes and alcohol and let grown adults make their own decisions

if that were to happen then 50% of the bullshit governments feed us in order to be re elected would be lost. They love to tell us how they are cleaning up drugs etc. Yet they are not.

That is true. There hasn't been a bigger "misnomer" then the America "war on drugs". What a joke.
Portugal has already proven that if you allow people to chose and give them that ability they will almost always make the right choices....

The US have too many wars on going
War on terror
War on drugs
War on illegal immigrants
War on gangs
War on Obama care
Problem is that most governments like to act like the nanny and tell us what we want to hear but thats as far as it goes.

They wouldn't tell us what we wanted to hear if it wasn't good for their pockets or their political ambition.
It is amazing how many reports have been forwarded to prove that pot is better for you than what cigarettes are but still cigarettes are legal and pot is still federally outlawed....that thinking is called the tobacco "superpacks" and I'm not talking about a big pack of smokes either

cigarettes is what brings in so much tax dollars. Yet Governments will place adds and tell us smoking is bad for you and you will die. So after pumping the airwaves with that message they will get 10k people countrywide to stop and then use some substitute which also brings in tax dollars like a patch or an electronic fag. Yet in the meantime 20k other youngsters have started to smoke. Pot does not contain any of the crap that they stick in the fags even the President of Phil Morris said that he would not smoke.
Just like the head of Barclays said that he would not use a Barclaycard because the interest you pay on it is a rip off. We are the sheep and they just use and monopolise us every single day of our pathetic lives.

I couldn't agree more. Pretty sad indictment on our society and the masters who pull the strings.
