How many lenghts of improvement (if any) is blinkers worth ?

Should be an interesting discussion.

Not sure it will be interesting some horses improve with blinkers on and some horses not, maybe I should take the blinkers off as it might be a trick question?

Seriously though it works for soms and for others no impact and It varies even more over distance & experience of a horse...so battling with this formula as a variable...

i like blinkers on sprinters if they show pace and then stop

I was going to say 'it depends' but I think you hit the nail on the head - some may improve 2 lengths, some may improve 1/2 a length, some will not improve, some will go backwards - impossible to tell - one of the factors ( the main one being horses are not machines) that imo means no system can predict the outcome of a race with certainty - and that's why it always remains a challenge to interpret the various factors - one can use a system only up to a point - the final analysis needs a human 'touch'

Loops...I agree with most guys here..differ from horse to horse...but ive learned some trainers have mastered that art!When they put blinkers on...80% of the time their horses improve loads...so maybe focus on what trainers are good with it...rather than what horses...

also depends who recommends the blinkers, if its just for the sake of ''hoping for improvement'' or has a jockey like Strydom got off a horse and said blinkers will help this horse etc...
