Two Oceans Syndication to buy for the $1 million race
11 years 7 months ago
Hi All.
If you don't have a ticket you don't have a chance. Obviously to buy something decent we will have to dig deep and spend more than usual.
If any of the '' clan" members are interested in throwing some money into the kitty to buy and race and hopefully qualify for the race please PM me. We need to plan ahead and collect upfront so we know what we have. PLEASE note no commission, blah, blah etc added on. Just having a go and need " good karma ". Thanks guys.

The obvious scenario of " playing at home gives you home town advantage" would make the most sense. However, if three for four big boys from Gauteng/Durban are keen then that can be an option. It does make sense to race in Cape Town because that is where the big race will be. Guys like Oscar and many others will most likely bid at the sale but the decent individuals might be to pricey therefore a collective force might be the answer.
The idea is that when you put your hand up you actually have a realistic chance of buying that Dynasty, Silvano, Judpot etc. As we know every horse has a realistic price and a ridiculous price. Two Oceans also have their own private suite on the finish line at Kenilworth.

Hi guys. I'm often sceptical as to ' buying in' to something with people I don't know personally.
I have always believed that the " small" punter, owner, breeder , trainer, Jockey etc. plays a huge role in the industry. As a presenter I never tipped for the 'pro, big punter' but often mentioned the R10 punter at the tote.
IMPORTANT: I am not trying to make money out of this, not a cent. We buy a horse, pay the price plus buy in for big race as per the sale conditions , add vat ( as per law) and then split shares according to what each person has contributed. The keep is split accordingly each month. No frills and spills.
Two Oceans Racing currently train in the Western Cape with : Patrick Kruyer, Shane Humby,Harold Crawford, Stephen Page and Riaan Van Reenen. OPTION: Open to suggestions.
The above trainer list shows that Two Oceans Racing supports and has empathy for the the smaller trainer as well. Can you imagine the excitement of a smaller trainer having a horse with real ability attempting to get into a $ million race.
If a trainer sets a realistic price for a yearling and it is "pushed up" and is a false price, there is absolutely no way we buying it. No deals with breeders and all that nonsense. I know that Two Oceans Racing (Keith and myself) want no part of any so called underhand dealings.
If we don't get a horse or two then so be it. I think that Two Oceans has shown that we love racing and Keith has sponsored the annual Lektron race day and bought a Private Suite at Kenilworth. We need to grow our horse portfolio with well- bred quality animals and also our racing friends and partners. We all dream to race in the Dubai Festival !!!
That's all folks, nothing more and nothing less.
