DIFFERENT DIVISION !

What has come back to me, is actually very little, in terms of the gravy train story etc. The guys from Phum who went down all had specific jobs to do. An event of this magnitude doesnt just arrange itself. Also, I know of a few very important meetings that took place. My mate who gave me the info in the first place also concedes the point.

But, if I do have something to report, I will do that, as always.

how on earth did WP Racing manage to hold so many successful Mets before Phum came on board? Or was that because they had the help of GC? And why do you need 500 presenters flown down when Stan and Vicky have been doing the job without them for so long? In every business it makes sense to cut unnecessary costs and maybe that should become the norm at Phumelela

P profit was about R10,000,000 a month last year, why you worried about a few bob costs Mr H, they not on their last millions yet?

When everyone else including our wasteful government is trying to cut costs then an industry based of the leisure rand should have started ages ago - All the money wasted on nonsense over the past few years could have enabled them to build a website that works instead of crying at the totes that you can only have 6 betting slips because they cost money!!

Morning Clanners. In 24 years of not having missed a Met I can say for me yesterday was by far the best organised Met I have ever attended.
Give credit where credit is due! I was going to give the Met a miss this year and ended up in the cheap seats (R750 Paddock Room 1st floor) By far the best catering and organised in all the 24 years.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the Madji and his lovely wife. Passionate people on a mission !! I just dont know how the hell he was allowed in with slops and his base-ball bat ? No blood and hair on it though, but then it was still early.
Did my boots but still a great day.

Neigh, I have also received similar reports, opinions from a few mates who have been going down for years.

As for previous posts, I really dont know all of the facts. I understand that RA is responsible for raceday experience and Phum for the rest etc. From Neigh's report, it appears that the raceday experience was good. Like to hear from Madji too. (and get him up to our picnic site at Vaal on Emerald Day again this year).

Imho, if the Met is going to become the annual venue of choice for teambuilding etc whilst working down there, then I have no problem. In fact, we need more of it in Racing, as does any company nowadays. At least they are passionate about Racing.

Again, if this was not the case, then I would take exception. Ultimately, its not my call to make and in the end, the day was a success, so well done to them.

Talking about the PRO aspect ............ Du Plessis in his speech thanks all the partygoers at the races with "without you there would be no racing"

For at least 360 days of the year that attitude should extend to the people in the shitty totes, or at home putting up with amateur Tellytrack and a crappy website to place bets..............:S
