DIFFERENT DIVISION !

My son has just flown down to Cape Town. Upon arrival, all passengers were greeted by young people handing out complimentary Winning Forms, Sporting Posts and Hollywood pens, as they promote the Met.

My son wonders where the Operators are.... The ones who actually should be doing this...

i went to the Met about 5 years ago and had the same treatment - How on earth can you not learn from your competitors after all that time(I'm sure HW were doing earlier than that also) How do you accept your salary when you are in Marketing for Phum when it is obvious you don't do your job? Would the shareholders like Jooste and Kantor accept that in their own Businesses (Steinhoff and Investec) - I think not and their silence is appalling as Racing should be protected by the sharholders

And then they cry about the open bet....

Greg, not often that I will agree with you on that one. But lets face it, "the accused" are the only ones Marketing Racing right now and that is a huge concern. To compound matters, alarming reports are coming through about lavish events being laid on ala gravy train for Operators staff etc. I would like to confirm / verify first and then I will report in full. If the shoe fits....

Why did the draw have to take place at the Shimmy Club is my 1st question?

They have a massive grandstand to cater to people.

.....not even In a different division.....the operator is not even in the race as far as marketing efforts go.....would not surprise me if even big money has been spent.....but aimed at the wrong end of the market still trying to convert the already converted.....kudos to Hollywood.... you guys do more for racing as far as marketing goes and your presence is always noticed....those airport greets are even hooking the uninitiated only for them to be delivered to the operator on the race day... and then get abused with poor service and no follow through.....and they then lose interest....:S

I have no objections to a little bit of gravy for the staff, the very staff who slog behind the counter, just as for your grooms. Have a heart ...

why dont you tell you son as you told me that they have the right to choose their own direction, strategy or methods of marketing? Thats THEIR decision to make, and yes, the Vee Moodleys of this World do look at things like that, which is why he is so good at what he does

Thanks for your words clanners, and I just want to throw out a big congratulations to our Hollywood team that were on the airport floor at CT International! Working from 6am for the first flight arrival to 11pm for the last flight both yesterday and today! They have just confirmed they have handed out 10 000 Winning Forms and Sporting Posts! Enjoy the Met tomorrow, you guys deserve it! -D

Well done winning form,you guys are the best,even your website is very good, the only thing Vee is good at is talking kak on TV, and I'm hearing more and more things every day about the RA in cape Town, O boy the gravy train is in fool swing.
