It was a bad interview but he just needs guidance-he is knowledgable and passionate so I am certainly happy that he learns
Some of our best now weren't so good at first -he does need to be told though !

It may be difficult to avoid being an "i"-specialist, but the best interviews are when the interviewer can get through a session without saying "i" too much.
Although is it that hard to ask "how were you travelling with 300m to go?" instead of "i thought you were going to win 300m from home?"
Having said that, it's a pity that post race interviews have become academy awards speeches with obligatorily "thank you's" x10. Interviewees should think that 1000's of people aren't interested in their gratitude to their trainer or whatnot, but are far more interested what the connections insight or observation about the horse or the race or the future.
The gratitude thing may be a South African quirk because many interviews from abroad are far more interesting. They often mention their competitors in interviews whereas here it's almost taboo. We're a funny bunch.

As an interviewer, I would probably have used the following approach.
1) Congratulations on your win.
2) do you think the draw has played a part in your horses improved performance.?
3). What are your views on the manner in which draws are allocated?
4) Can you share the method used to allocate draws without comprising yourself.
Interviewer is probably some well connected daddies boy....BEE! I reversed, WEE, BOTH DETRIMENTAL.
The fact that the P6 paid 1m, with no carryover...wow.
As I mentioned before transparency, ain't a buzzword in SA Racing

The guy heads up the 3A racing syndicate and has introduced a lot of youngsters to racing and ownership, he may have missed the plot in the interview but imo he is a great asset to racing and is certainly not a "sheltered employment" beneficiary...

I think it was probably Wesley.... and I think he is a breath of fresh air. Has lots to learn but if he keeps his place on TT in a few years time you will all be complimenting him.

I agree with Jack that the biggest problems with our interviews are that the presenters often tell rather than ask - racing has a tendency to want to show what good tipsters we are -look how many of the winning horses in the daily thread are self congratulated -interesting!

100% - Very poor choice of questions:
