Wesley Bowman, maybe he should rather stick to his 3A racing buddies or "Billies", I was of the opinion that Martin Locke was training the presenters. If he wants to be a punter, stick to that, don't let it interfere with an owners moment of glory.

I find him a bit too confident or 'cocky, which may or may not be a good thing. Lets give him a chance. We need new young blood into the game. rather him than Martin Locke.

I am friends with a few presenters and i often pity them cause they are human and how do you feel after your horse loose?? Offcourse gutted... Maybe he little inexperience gave him away but with time he will mature into a good presenter... By the way Vicky Minnot really impresses me coz she even interviews the groom in a language they comfortable with... Well Done to the young blood... can only blossom with experience..

I believe call a spade a spade without being disrespectful wen a trainer comments and says this is real weak field or the other famous line "non of them r going to Hollywood" nobody says a thing y owners not taking offence then , sometimes I think we all become to critical and emotional

Vicky seems very sweet but maybe she should stick to Xhosa! Her English is just not up to the task. It's not only Vicky who struggles with her command of English though. This extends to many of her colleagues and soccer and rugby presenters too. It's clear that South Africans are not up to international standards and this can only be down to education and training. They need to send all these presenters for speech lessons! With the racing channel about to go local 24-7 lets hope they improve.

I just went and watched the interview. The first bit was uncomfortable and he harped on the horses price and being out of the P6 three times in the short interview. That isn't on however the guy will learn and he isn't the worst presenter out there. He is young and wants to make a go of it in horseracing. Give him a shot. He obviously puts his own money in the game which is a good start. He has a lot of young people involved who enjoy their racing and likes to go have some fun which is another good point.
So he isn't the most rounded presenter yet, so he made a few comments that was inappropriate. Let's put ourselves in his position. Perhaps we could have done better but perhaps we would have fallen flat on our faces........Just the nature of the beast.
Also we tend to be very harsh on almost everyone out there at one point or another. I was guilty of having a go at Gareth at the beginning and look how much he has improved. now we all sing his praises!!! Also Ally Cohen came under our attack in the beginning and he is gaining confidence with every commentary. The most important thing to remember is that these guys, whether we like it or not is the future of racing.
Let's get behind them and give them some positive feedback too, not just criticism and negativity.
Wes, if you read this, don't harp on your own bets and take the feelings of the owner/trainer/jock into consideration, otherwise keep up the good work and have fun with your racing syndicate!!!
