Affirmed won the USA Triple in 1978. Quite a few have won 2 legs since then but he was the 11 th and last to do all 3.

In a world of droll headgear (red berets anyone?) and a Hollywood cast of Eastern European thugs and Bond-esque assassination plots –we need a new champion. We thirst for a dashing lionheart to lead the way, inspire and elevate us from a sea of fallen heroes.

He’s here! Sound the bugle, raise the flag and all hail the king… Louis the King!

From the sport of kings rises a new breed of winner, who outruns, outsmarts and has the courage to fight for victory. Louis the King is poised to become just the second horse ever to win South Africa’s Triple Crown, earning him a cool R2 million bonus and elevating him to legendary status.

Only one other horse has ever won all three legs of the Triple Crown: the renowned Horse Chestnut stunned the nation when he won in 1999.

Now, having won two legs of the SASCOC Triple Crown, Louis the King has only the third leg – the South Africa Derby on 26 April 2014 – to conquer and establish himself as a true legend.

It has all the makings of a blockbuster drama: The young king intent to triumph in a world of soft-bellied complacency and unmerited gains. He earns his fame and fortune through legitimate victory. His is a story of passion, inspiration and hope!

From humble beginnings (his owner purchased him as a yearling for only R55 000) Louis the King has already earned R2 million in his short career and stands to net his owner another R1 million plus a R2 million bonus if he wins this single race on 26 April.

Glam up and become a part of the action! The third leg of the SASCOC Triple Crown – the South Africa Derby – takes place at Turffontein Racecourse on 26 April 2014 and you’re invited to an unforgettable moment in time.

Witness history in the making as our hero takes to the track in his quest to wear the Triple Crown!

One race. One chance.

i'ts allover the papers today well done to the PR teams for getting racing out into the public arena a bit. Yes, perhaps the TC is not a true set compared to the rest of the world's, and perhaps LTK is not a Frankel, but hey, he's the hero of the moment. May the best horse win!
