July WildCard hopefuls
11 years 1 month ago
Its going to be very interesting if horses like as captain america or as you like dont win the Daily News. Both could be included as wild cards based on their classic form. What of others that dont win the qualifying races, pomodoro run for it, whiteline fever, futura?

Yesterdays Pinnacles stakes was most confusing. all the higher rated horses ran very poorly or below par. with the exception of the winner and he only just beat Brooks Club who has only one a Graduation plate on Grass.
Hope some of the hopefuls improve

im actually battling to put 16 runners together for a quality competitive field and if Yorker goes who has a rating of 118 6 pounds ahead of the next runner in the noms then the top weight will have a 112 rating...we could have horses getting in with ratings around 100

Woodruff said he will see about LTK for the July and Legislate and Yorker could be heading overseas. If none of them run then there won't be too many "guaranteed spots" taken.

I f "Louis" runs in the July, then Yorker will definitely run as well...otherwise Louis will be carrying a lot of weight as a 3 y/o and Woodruff won't want to run him if he needs to carry more than 56kg.

Yip I agree - the connections of Futura must be rubbing their hands - IF of course he confirm his class in the Cup Trial (tu)
Has the stable actually talked about Yorker going overseas - last I heard Geoff Woodruff was saying that the July is his target - things may have changed though :S
