Cape Town - Johannesburg-based betting company World Sports Betting (WSB ) on Tuesday announced a partnership with ex-Bafana Bafana and English Premiership footballer Mark Fish for the duration of the Soccer World Cup to be held in Brazil.

The association will see Fish putting his knowledge of the beautiful game to the ultimate test, by being given a R10 000 pot to make a series of bets throughout the duration of the tournament. His winnings (the minimum amount being the R10 000 he was originally given) will go to a charity of his choice at the end of the tournament.
WSB and Fish will publish their tips and results through their official social media platforms as well as a dedicated section on the WSB website that will update visitors of his progress and his winnings. WSB offer a range of betting options around the World Cup, including live in-play action.
Speaking on the partnership with WSB, Fish expressed his excitement: “I’m delighted at being given the opportunity by WSB to make some money for charity, using my knowledge of football as the platform. WSB CEO Warren Tannous explained the thinking behind the campaign: “Working with a South African icon like Mark Fish allows us to educate the general public around sports betting, and about how to engage in a fun and responsible manner. WSB gives Fish and punters alike the opportunity to make bets live in their stores across the country, as well as online and through their mobile betting platforms. As part of the campaign, Fish will be visiting the various WSB branches across Gauteng where fans and punters will be invited to come along for an autograph and photo session with Fish and get involved in the live action.
