i think there is
i think its 25 years after a stallon is dead and 10 years after any other horse is dead
cant be easy naming horses though
i see lafferty has a few 'funny' names eg donkey,chicken,goat,muel and a few others

I am highly opposed to the using of the same names. how would the Oppenheimers feel if in 10 years time or (20,30) a horse named Horse Chestnut battles to win a race, or a Sun Classique is a 5 year old maiden? Highly unacceptable!!!

Lot 297 is named CALVADOS, who is also the Bold Type (imported) performer from the early 80's. I would have thought it was a protected name.

maybe if a horse wins a stakes race it should be protected
