I certainly enjoyed Basel's commentary....................Cohen has the talent but the danger was always falling into the celebrity player trap ,and taking his eye off the ball!
I believe fillies distract him plenty!!!!!!!............who can blame him fir that ???

Cohen and Denman should not be mentioned in the same sentence.
I suppose I am showing my age. I enjoy Cohen but Denman was and is a Master!

I repeat the complete package..you show me anyone at the age of 23 who can call a race ,host shows and present with the fluency he can ..I also grew up in the denman era and lets remember he didn't become as good as he is overnight ..its a pity that this industry is tainted with so much jealousy that people go out their way to pull people down to their level...cohen will get to the top of his field

I agree mostly - At 23 he is years ahead of those that came before him - He does however need to be aware of the influence of those around him who are far less talented and have their own agendas - Think back to when you were his age and if you could pull any of it off - With a few more years behind him and the benefit of a sharp mind and eloquent tongue he will be the premier commentator/presenter in SA Racing -
My advice to the young man is not to stoop to the on air brown nosing that taints many of his colleagues. Model yourself on Hawkins and Malherbe and you won't go wrong in calling. Call a race as you see it and not what your pocket wants or you ego dictates(the horse is the focus not the caller). Keep level headed and if you do have an eye for the ladies(as has been suggested here) good for you!!

Got to agree with you Pirates, for such an early age, he does posess the all round package, and can only get better with age.
By the way what has happened to Julies sidekick ? The ex P.E. guy ROD, I don't see him on t.v. anymore ?
