My favourite horse was Model Man and more recently Pocket Power.........but also loved the 2002 Durban July win by Ipi Tombe. Will be nice if you can post that one Bob. Will bring back some good memories.

My favorite race was the Kentucky Derby in 2009 when Mine That Bird was tailed off last to cruise to victory. Amazing finish.

Ipi Tombe was the first July winner I backed myself, but I did tell my dad to back Gondolier as a 7yo schoolboy. Only realized it won 30 seconds after the race, and ridden by my favorite jockey Kevin Shea. He was so unlucky on Young Rake.

Slip Anchor winning The Derby in the 80's was probably the first major race shown live - on Bop Tv. Unforgettable
