Also been told he was pissed of with Tswaro Appie for taking his ground and they had to be seperated

When did Appie take up his running? I can't see this at all - In the straight Appie is always ahead and CANNOT go towards the outside to give him space as there horses there. Kumalo almost went into the back of Winter Star - No sorry he chose that inside line(as do the clevers in CapeTown) and found over 1450m there just is not enough time for the field to fan out. I don't think Appie has ANY blame to carry!

That's what I thought Mr H, seemingly appie dived for the inside instead of running straight

Bob we must also remember the winner was also coming over to the inside - No if anyone must take sole blame then Khumalo as a senior rider must know you cannot go from last to first using the inside rail

From a punters point of view, I am most impressed by jocks who dont lose races they should have won.....IMO that is what separates a good horseman from a great jockey!

blueyonder what gave you the impression that there was a slow pace?i actually thought the pace was on from the start and hopefully by the end of this century we will have sectional timing in place...

Don't be quick to write Majmu off like most did with Treve... She was extremely unlucky in the running and clearly has bigger fish to fry this season. I can't see her losing the guineas in ct, she settled well and has a turn of foot, one more run and bang the avontuur mission!

seemed slow to me - maybe cause Majmu had nowhere to go for so long - would love to know what de kocks instructions were to Smanga pre race?

well while we are on the topic of his bad rides - his ride on the Tarry baby wasn't exactly brilliant either - that would also not have lost with delpech or Marcus up - why did he have to change the stick?

Compared to Joseph O Brien losing the St Leger on Camelot and with it the Triple Crown, that ride will come out second best B)

I agree with Pirates reading of the pace, in spite of Sampson coming back after, saying that it was slow. The course was running quick, on top. It was a green topped Winter surface. To make it worse, they cut the grass close to race day.

And yes, we need sectional timing very urgently. Then our opinions will be based on facts. As for Majmu, she will be back big time. ..
