Anyone think that Karl should have called it a day by now???
I do, personally.

Did anyone see how King Karl nearly fluffed it on Sunday Seventh in the last on Saturday, not riding his horse out in the closing stages, one more stride and Ashram would of got him on the line... :silly:

top top trainers are still using him, trainers dont fuck about with loyalty ,if he had lost his ability or fitness he would not be riding for these yards anymore imo.

I won't comment on his riding but the shrewd trainers put him up also for the feedback which is invaluable.
Others like Shea,Strydom,Cormack,Coetzee etc fall into this category.
Some of todays youngsters can ride but whether they can assess a horse is disputable.
Of the younger jocks Bernard Fayd herbe to my mind has both qualities.
Lester could give you a very good opinion of a horse in very few words.

His ride on Sunday Seventh reminded me of Luke Nolan aboard Black Caviar at Royal Ascot. With the angle favouring the outside horse I thought Karl was beat. I also thought the commentator was extremely diplomatic.

Karl never misses a day at work I know that when he missed a few days about a year ago a trainer stopped him and asked "What hospital were you in?"
Karl said "I wasn't in hospital"
The trainer said "I thought you had to be in ICU to be missing"
He is the ultimate professional
Certain guys are different Check where Forbes Wrogemann Mienie Cormack ride work and follow those stables Gavin Venter was the same
Horses improve because of the feedback

I have also heard that his feedback and work ethic are second to none.
He is going through a lean spell (6 out of last 100 I think) but don't all sportsmen ?
When he eventually does retire, I think he would make an excellent trainer.

After all the years of opportunity, as opposed to other jockeys, Mr Neisuis has poor "Big Match Temperament".
He has a stereotypical style of riding. His a safe rider, that's it.
If a race, in the early part, doesn't "pan out" the way he wants, he fails to step up to an alternate game plan.
If the alternate game-plan ultimately doesn't work out for a Bernard Faydeherbe or a Glenn Hatt, at least racegoers can see that a jockey just doesn't sit, hope and die a slow death and moan later why things went bad in a race.
Karl Neisuis, too many times, one dimensional. (in big races)

William I have to disagree Karl has always been a top class jock and won some fantastic races over the years and a true professional
