Working in the racing industry?
10 years 4 months ago
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone else that works in the industry could help me with a little info. Currently I am a procurement manager at a construction company. I work on a contract basis mainly and am actually looking for something else. I really enjoy horse racing I even watch when im not having a punt. I punt mostly on weekends and I find horse racing really interesting and enjoyable. Are there any opportunities or ways one can get work in the industry? I do not want a huge salary just enough to cover the bills and maybe if I get into it make a career of it. Is it possible for some one young like me with no previous work experience in the industry to get involved some how or should I continue on my current path? By all means I do not want to work in it simply for the gambling part it genuinely is something I am passionate about. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your still young enough, why not retrain ? Back to uni do a bloodstock course or train to be a vet, maybe hands on, train to be a farrier
I wouldn't enter at the bottom
