"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 25th April Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon's session completed then, and went as follows........
The 1st runner we wanted 1.9, and with getting around 1.78/9 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 1.79 max. The lay had to work very hard and hit as high as 80+ in running! but ended up winning a battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.8, but a non runner and 7.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.74. The price had drifted to around 1.84 on arrival and only got bigger, so race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd after a battle, so the drift beat race to race players to the punch. Grr! early traders happy though..........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 2.32 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.32. The lay had to work hard, but got the gaps and won a battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 4th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won an eventful race well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.....
The 5th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.95 on arrival and just getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid another race. The runner was beaten, so the drift more than justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.24 on arrival and getting bigger, then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay went and won very well in the end, so yet another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Traders again got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 2.48 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all after mails were sent, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift more than justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.84 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond near the off, we had a lay at 2.32 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.........
The 9th and final runner we wanted 2.5, but an important non runner and 22.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was around 2.26 on arrival and only got bigger and bigger, so a race to avoid. The runner went and won, so a good leave........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED............(3 from the first 4 (75%) went and won - 4 from the first 6 (66.66%) went and won - and 5 from the 9 (55.55%) in total, and so very tough as expected, and all we could do this session was limit the damage, which we did, so well battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 1.8 targets...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a big battle, they ended up 1.8 targets down after their 4th lay (the 8th runner)..........
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 1.79 max, but a poor result see them go behind early........They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.32, but another poor result see them go further behind.........Then came their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.2 max, but another poor result see them go further behind..........Then came their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 2.32 max, and a good result see them win a chunk back.......That's where both finished, and so a tough session as expected and builders concede between 1.8 and 2 targets...

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so very well played guys...
So we expected a very tough session, and unfortunately we got it!. We did all we could though, and although it was a little loss for strategists, it could've been a lot worse, so we'll expect it as a tough session gone, and move on. Well battled guys, and speak soon......
Marc.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:50am.
That's our work for this afternoon then. Never easy, and this session very tricky due to the several unexposed races and make ups leaving us open to drifters and gambles, so always unpredictable stuff! but no reason why we shouldn't take the punches either, as although looking very tricky, we still have enough about us to warrant going in, so that's what we'll do.
*Builders* are advised to have a good think about the session before committing themselves, so 'if' you do decide to take the plunge, then make sure your strategy is spot on with your stake (you know the score guys). Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings......
