"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 29th April Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed then, and went as follows.....

The 1st runner we wanted 1.4, and with being around 1.46 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave.....

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.0, and with getting a well supported 2.7 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.7. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 3.3, before tumbling back down again - so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result.......

The 3rd runner was now a non runner, so on to the next runner...

The 4th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and shortening (hit odds on), we had a lay at around 2.3 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result....

The 5th runner we wanted 2.6, and with drifting out to around 3.8 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, despite dropping quite a bit, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner ran ok, and wasn't helped by the winner, but was beaten, so the drift more than justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'........

The 6th runner we wanted 2.44, but a non runner and 4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.38. The price had drifted to around 2.52 on arrival and then dropped back down to us and beyond, so we had a lay at 2.38 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result..........

The 7th runner we wanted 3.3, and with drifting to around 3.45 on arrival, getting bigger, then tumbling back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result......

The 8th runner we wanted 1.7, but a non runner and 10.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.63. There was then another non runner and further 7.7% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.58. The price had drifted to around 1.73 on arrival and only got bigger, so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! early traders happy though.......

The 9th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being around 3.65 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.5 max. The lay looked beaten, but came back to win and so the way it goes. Only traders playing now though, and they easily got their trade back prices in running and so got away with it.......

WELL PLAYED.....

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 1 target..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 4th runner)............Then they watched as they ran out of enough potential lays left (5 runner players) to start another strategy/target, and so they end the session winning 1 target......

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that bought a tiny profit........They then had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 2.3 max, and a good result see them go close to their targets.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.38 max, and a good result see them hit their targets...

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys.....

So we avoided the first winner, and then went on our merry way! So that's what we're here to do, and so job done this session and well played guys. Should start relenting a little now, regarding favourite's winning (normally does, touch wood, fingers crossed, etc etc) etc, and if not then we'll just keep plugging away day in day out and battle when we have to. Well played guys and speak soon...

That's our work for this afternoon's session then. Never easy, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the fore, and take advantage of any prices that come our way, as always, and then we'll hope that the value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
