Chester races 2015
10 years 1 month ago
The 3 day meeting takes place this week, my favourite venue to watch and least favourite to punt..
Highlights of the week are
The Chester Cup on Wednesday
The Huxley Stakes and Chester Vase Thursday
The Dee Stakes and Ormande Stakes Friday
Some nice runners have won at this meeting the last few years Notably the Magician and Ruler Of The World.
Mike De Kock has the unlucky in running Taanaf entered for a couple of races

Greg , horse racing in South Africa is the plaything of owners, trainers breeders and punters, the public are not interested one iota
Festivals need the public to pay the entry fee and spend loads of cash, tracks in the UK advertise their big meetings 6 months in advance, create a buzz.
There that few venues in South Africa that you can`t create a buzz about a venue that races 100 times a year

My first meeting at Chester was Ladies day with champagne at a pound a glass. When I got there, there some very elegant ladies parading. 2 hours later, at least 40 were not so elegant sleeping, sitting etc on the grass!
Was a fun meeting but anyone who complains about Greyville's short straight, must go there. There was no false rail and I saw a few horses getting caught on the fence and not getting out until the race was over. Some very unlucky runners there but I did enjoy the course.

exciting racing to watch , will be sold out all 3 days during the week and it's very expensive to get in ... The advertisers must be something right !

Race 1 the Lily Agnes pays to follow the low draw and horses with a run
Silver Wings was fast away on debut and well drawn in 1, probably a race to the bend in this race 3/1 was a big price ( 2/1 now)

Like your 1st 2 greg but without favs ( ZAFAYAN R3 by the way ).
R1 Think SILVER WINGS could be a bit speedy.
R3 A possible Martin plot always to be wary of (also have a bit of a fancy for TRIP TO PARIS )
R2 Including ZAMOURA without Moore/ O"Brien in Patent and e/w treble.
