SCOTIA ON THE WEEKEND!

Good morning to the CLAN on what has the makings of a superb weekend.

Have had a nice break this week and have a good feeling about the weekend, weather permitting?

A great win by Rangers last night and new competition on offer from our friends at blackpearlbetting.

Plenty good racing and odds on offer for Saturday at last!

I have a 50th birthday bash this evening, and to show consideration it was brought forward due to the Gomma Gomma day on Saturday, now that's what you call a friend.

We have a table in the Furious room and will be looking for some good tips to cover which should be a rather social day?

Its always good to see some potential champs in action and on all counts a full house at the big T.

The 2nd race should be a good contest between Sirius Star and Winter Serenade, the 3rd should see the unbeaten Merlene De Lago continue on its winning ways, but a couple of decent sorts to beat?
Warm White Night looks something very special, but again Master of All is another good beast!
The Gold Bowl looks competitive with Membrado and Likeithot early fancies. The Oaks is either Front of House or the field? The Derby can go to Kings Gambit with the scratching/sale of Kings Blood. Then for me the best race of the day, with Mythical Flight trying to lead all the way from Seventh Rock and the flying J.J., and with a bit rain, just might take the edge of the speed merchants?
The Gomma Gomma, very open where it would be nice to have the field in the last leg of the pick 6 for the exotic punters. The 10th could be a race for the ladies, Perez, Bequick and Bonzer.

In addition the 2000 gns from Newmarket, where New Approach, Ibn Khaldun and Ravens Pass fighting for the honours and the Kentucky Derby in the evening where I fancy an outsider to win, but sorry to report no idea which one?

Betting now in full swing for Ascot in June, with National Colour at 25/1, and for the Prince of Wales Sun Classique/Ramonti/Archipenco around 8/1 what does the main man say? MDK!
Twice Over is still 4/1 fav for the Derby.

So lets get ready to rumble and have a great weekend!

Good punting!

SCOTIA.

WOW! Quite an eventful day Dave - lol!

Happy punting - I too, am hopeful that the softer ground will make the 1000m feel more like 1100m to the particpants - so that the 'Plane' can fly the final 300m and 'out nod' Mythical' on the line!

I was gonna bet 'Ravens Pass' but have decided to do Ibn Khaldun E/W instead.

All the best Dave - Jim,

For a long shot in the Derby, look out Team Valor's Visionaire to come with a late run, especially if it's wet. Not sure the pace and traffic will work in his favour though. It seems a lot of the contenders have a similar running style, so could be traffic problems galore. Good luck, Barry!

If Big Brown's relative lack of experience doesn't work against him, he's going to be hard to beat. Looks the likely favourite though. EDIT: Just saw he got drawn 20, ouch.

What a run by Big Brown! Draw 20 didn't faze him. :)

Very sad day for the connections of the filly that ran second though.
