"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 2nd May Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.......

The 1st runner we wanted 3.3, and with getting around 3.15/2 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The price then went for a walk out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, before tumbling back down again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was a nicely beaten 2nd, so a good result......

The 2nd runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 1.72 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.66 max. The lay went and won without too much fuss, so the way it goes........

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 2.32 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to around 3.45 on arrival and not coming back down, we had to avoid the race. The runner finished back in 3rd, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though........

The 5th runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 6.8 on arrival as if a leg had fallen off, and just getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner never looked like winning, so the drift more than justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........

The 6th runner we wanted 1.46, and with being around 1.58 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.46 max. The lay went and won easily and made layers look idiots, so the way it goes..........

The 7th runner we wanted 3.0, and with being around 2.84 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.84. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so a chance for a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result........

The 8th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 2.56 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.56 max. The lay went and won without too much fuss, so the way it goes........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.24 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 2.1. The lay came in 2nd after a battle, so a good result..........

The 10th runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.76 on arrival, getting bigger, then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay looked in trouble a couple of times, but dug deep to win a battle, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....

The 11th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.9 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'.......

The 12th and final runner we wanted 2.8, and with getting around 2.74 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.74 max. The lay was given the nod after looking sure to be 2nd in the photo, so pure frustration, but that's the game!! I even see the print and thought we'd go it!! very strange. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...........

WELL BATTLED.....................(4 from the first 10 (40%) went and won - and although that's not 'too' bad - it was when combined with several annoying drifters! Anyhow, a frustrating day, but we dug in and came out of it OK, so well battled guys)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 2.5 targets...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and although they got off to a good start, they then went behind after a couple of poor lays, but then broke level on their 4th lay (the 7th runner), and so with being levels and only one potential lay left, they stop there with now no room at all for error. So levels............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 8th runner, and after another battle, they went to their 4th lay (the 12th and final runner) where we looked to be robbed after a photo finish, and ended up conceding around 2.5 targets...

'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 1st lay at 1.66 max, but a poor result see them go a little behind.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 6th runner) at 1.46 max, but a poor result see them go a little more behind........Then came another 'free' lay (the 7th runner) that bought a tiny profit...........Then they had their 3rd lay (the 8th runner) at 2.56 max, but a poor result see them go further behind..........Then came their 4th lay (the 9th runner) at 2.1, and a good result see 4 runner builders break level.......

5 runner builders needed a little more, so they had their 5th lay (the 10th runner) at 2.7, but a poor result see them concede 2 targets on the session.........

Traders had to concede a little on the 2nd runner at 1.66 max, the 6th runner at 1.46 max, and the 8th runner at 2.56 max, and so although all others see them break level, or win a bit, they had to suffer a little loss, and so the way it goes guys. Cannot win every day!....

So, hard to know what to make of that session to be honest! All about drifters really, as those drifts made us work very hard, and although we couldn't ever get a hold on the session, we still battled well and 4 runner builders came out levels. 5 runner builders will be very frustrated with conceding a little, as those 'free' lays cost them at least levels, but they know that when building banks it's a slow, tedious build, and pays in the end before they become rollers.

Rollers themselves finished levels after their 1st strategy and battle, and then had to concede a little after another battle and some frustrating drifts and close finishes, and Anyhow, well battled and speak soon....

Morning.

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon's session, as follows.....

2.20 Musselburgh. LITTLE EDEN (3.15)

Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.

2.40 Lingfield. MASAALEK (1.88)

Our price 10/11 (1.9) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.66 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

2.50 Musselburgh. HARWALLA (2.17)

Our price 13/10 (2.3) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.0 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race - plus traders should be aware, that although lightly raced after just the one run, this stable have a tendency to race their horses prominently, so no surprise to see that tact applied today*

3.00 Southwell. CAPRIO (3.3)

Our price 23/10 (3.3) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.0 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

3.10 Lingfield. LILLE IDA (3.4)

Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.2 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

3.20 Musselburgh. FIRST BUDDY (1.59)

Our price 4/6 (1.67) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.46 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he can race a few ways, it wouldn't be any surprise to see a prominent display this afternoon*

3.40 Lingfield. TRANSCEND (2.92)

Our price 23/10 (3.3) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.0 or under.

3.50 Musselburgh. BORDERLESCOTT (2.5)

Our price 19/10 (2.9) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.6 or under. *Traders be aware, that although he doesn't have to lead, he has lead in some of his races, and so no surprise to see a prominent display this afternoon*

4.10 Lingfield. Mr AVIATOR (2.32)

Our price 7/5 (2.4) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.1 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he has a few ways of running, it wouldn't be any surprise to see a prominent display this afternoon*

4.20 Musselburgh. HILL BILLY ROCK (2.86)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

4.50 Musselburgh. STEVIE GEE (2.94)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

5.00 Southwell. GREAT CHARM (2.94)

Our price 21/10 (3.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:08am.

That's our work for this afternoon's session then. Very tricky looking with that unexposed nature leaving us vulnerable to drifters and gambles, plus several races lacking strength in depth, but overall we have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck guys, and speak soon with this evening's workings....
