"Group" RESULTS - 'Evening' Friday 2nd May Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Evening.
This evening completed, and went as follows.......
The 1st runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 2.16 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay looked beat a couple of times, but dug deep to win a hard though battle, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.32, and with drifting to around 2.36 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price again and so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so glad of the drift now and a good leave........
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.15 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.15. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.5 and beyond, before coming back down again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now......
The 4th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.85 on arrival, and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner looked the sure winner and traded as low as 1.01, but stopped on the run in and was passed to finish 2nd! So shame we never got on, and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and then there being a withdrawal and 12.7% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 2.48. The price was still high, and then dropped down to us and slightly beyond, so we had a lay at 2.48 max. The 2nd fav fell early, so that was a blow, and despite the lay looking in trouble a couple of times, he came good and so totally frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 6th and final runner we wanted 2.96, but a non runner and 2.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.91. The price was around 2.74 on arrival and so we had a lay at around 2.74. The lay ran a poor race and was easily beaten, so a good result..........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.............(3 from the first 3 went and won (100%) - and 4 from the 6 in total (66.66%) - and so ultra tough again, but again we battled well to limit any damage)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 2 targets...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after yet another battle today, then ended up recouping a bit on their 3rd and final lay (the 6th runner), to end the session conceding around 2 targets, so not what we wanted, but looking back we'll take it!....
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.0 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had a 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that only bought relief..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 2.48, but a poor result see them go further behind.........They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th and final runner) at 2.74, and a good result see them limit the damage to concede between 1.1 and 1.4 targets on the session...

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, and so with all those winners and winning a little, they'll take that as a very good result, so well played guys...
So another tough session with favourite's flying in, and although we had to concede a little, we know it gets very tough at times, so we did a good, battling job to end the way we did. So a tough day all round, and we'll take it and look ahead to tomorrow...Speak in the morning guys...
Marc.
