500 K Bonus for the Supreme series
9 years 11 months ago - 9 years 11 months agoIT’S BONUS TIME FOR THE SUPREME SERIES!
Phumelela Gaming is happy to announce that another sponsorship has been
concluded!
A R500,000 bonus will be paid by World Sports Betting to any horse that can
win all three legs of the Super Supreme Series, which starts at Flamingo
Park on Saturday, 1 August and ends at the Vaal Racecourse on Saturday, 29
September.
The series will be targeted by the country’s best sand sprinter-to-1450m
horses.
The bonus will be thoroughly deserved by any horse that can land the
treble, because the three races are effectively handicaps meaning a winner
of one of the legs will likely have a more difficult task in the next leg.
The first leg will be the R135,000 Non-Black Type World Sports Betting
Flamingo Sprint, a handicap over 1000m to be run on Saturday, 1 August at
Flamingo Park in Kimberley. The second leg is the R250,000 Gr 3 August
Stakes, a handicap over 1200m at the Vaal on August 29. The final leg is
the R1 million Supreme Cup presented by SAP and will be run over 1450m at
the Vaal on Saturday, September 26.
The weights in the Supreme Cup presented by SAP will be decided by merit
rated bands in units of four. The weight for the band of 115 and above will
be 62kg and the weight for each descending band will go down by 2kg.
Fillies and mares will receive a 2kg allowance, which will hand them an
advantage on paper.
World Sports Betting will also be donating R100 000 to charity.
World Sports Betting enables punters to place bets online for national and
international sports including horse racing, golf, rugby, cricket, soccer,
tennis and more.

The August Stakes should be a banging day as Racing To Jump is holding a Show Jumping Competition at the Vaal to coincide with the Sand Racing.

Greg the last event at Turffs was such a great success on all levels. Turnover was way up on the tote on-course. We had strong strong betting and many of the punters were WOMEN!! The Jumping folk are laid back and really punt for pleasure - We sold out all our tables and the the decks at Turffs were full from 1-4 on a SUNDAY with an 8 race program - Feature Race 125k - With a strong Feature and the unique angle of "sand" Racing I think the Jumpers will punt strongly again especially as many have already had an introduction to punting at the Big T

It was ''tongue in cheek'' comment MR H (Considering the problems they've had with the sand)...

Greg I heard that they have found some additive or something that they are adding into the Sand which is improving it - I'm sure a trainer or two can say more
