Eudey I'm not your fool or your groom
My response was for Rob insulting me
My input regarding Rahilly was to substantiate my point to use that time behind constructively
You really don't have anything to say about the subject
Savvy of you to come at me here when what really is annoying you is the Yeni post

That explains everything Bob. Won't even bother to reply. Some things just never change!

Thanks Pirates ,Craig and Neigh, now for an opinion from a punter, owner and a trainer, do any of you believe that the extra time may be the reason we also (compared to the UK,for example) have seemingly more agitated horses?........................... leading to spreading of shoes(we seem to have more attended to a week than the UK have in a season) and fractious behaviour (again much higher than UK)
Do we need a re-look at our starting procedures!

its frustrating to having to wait for the horses to go in late as sometimes in the UK it overlaps into another race on a busy day. I think that the horses who want to race, the majority do, just want in and out. Horses don't like standing in the stalls for too long and when one or two play up by not wanting to go in must have an unsettling effect on the ones ready to race. This causes them to become annoyed thus the attempts to break through the front or rearing up. I don't think its about wanting punters to punt more. The starter and the handlers just want to get the race on and move on to the next starting point and a break to have a sandwich and a fag.

im told a new procedure has been put into place as far as loading horses is concerned and I stand to correction but the current 2yo crop is the first to load this way and it will take a couple of years for it to be fully implemented as the older horses move out the system..im sure craig could fill us in on the full details of this..i feel 30 minutes in between races they shouldn't walk around the parade ring more than 3 times and when they get to the start the jocks have a few minutes to check the equipment load and sent back home...horses that misbehave etc should have to be reschooled and suspended from racing so those culprits realise they must school their horses properly the first time and the horses that do behave don't suffer

Rob , in my opinion no, what needs to be attended to is trainers not schooling their horses properly (same old, same old every time), handlers being scared and not trained properly either. The time at the start is exaggerated by these factors and then seems to take for ever. Overseas with their huge fields doesnt take half the time we do with half the horses to load. Stricter fines and schooling criteria for trainers, handlers and horses would help.
MDK was bitching and moaning about certain handlers not so long ago, what has improved since then ? Sean T through his toys out the cot two weeks ago about the same thing, his horse having to stand for about 10 min. (so did all the other horses but some do get effected adversely).
I hate it when my horse that had been schooled properly had to stand and wait for the same horses every time they were entered together. Over two years nothing ever improved but then not all horses are the same and thats where the handlers/starter come in.
Now would reducing the time period help ? I dont think so.
