"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 9th May Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....

The 1st runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.82 on arrival and then dropping down to us and way beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay looked in trouble, but came through good in the end to win, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping back down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result........

The 3rd runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting around 4.7 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a very nice priced winner (returned 5/1 sp), but more importantly a good leave.......

The 4th runner we wanted 3.45, and with being around 3.5 on arrival and just getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave..

The 5th runner we wanted 3.1, but a non runner and 26.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.55 (2.56 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.82 on arrival and only got bigger, so with not seeing our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten by the rank outsider, so a bit crazy and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........

The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 5.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.18 (3.2 nearest exchange price). The price was around 4.0 on arrival and although dropped down, it never quite dropped enough (3.25 lowest matched) and so a race to avoid for all. The runner finished strong, but couldn't get there, so very unfortunate we never got our price, but that's the fine lines we play. 'one that got away in hindsight'.....

The 7th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being a very well supported 2.0 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay went and won a battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.....

The 8th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 1.7 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 1.66 max. The lay went and won, so another favourite goes in, and the way it goes.......

The 9th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.45 on arrival and not dropping down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED................(3 from the first 4 (75%) went and won - 5 and from the 9 in total (55.55%) - so a very tough session, but we did all we could and limited any damage very well)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 1.5 targets.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a battle they ended up conceding 1.5 targets after their 4th lay (the 8th runner)........

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.7 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.2 max, and a good result see them claw a bit back..........Then came their 3rd lay (the 7th runner) at 2.0 max, but a poor result see them go a bit further behind.........They then had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 1.66 max, but another poor result see 4 runner builders concede 1.8 targets.....

5 runner players went in search of their 5th and final lay, but never found it and so they end the session conceding 1.5 targets...

That's where it ended.

Overall result. Concede 1.5 targets.

Traders had to concede a little on the 8th runner at 1.66, but all others see them win a bit or break level, so they ended around levels which isn't bad with all those winners today...

So a very tough session comes to a close, and although it was a little loss for plenty, it could've been much worse, so thankful for small mercies and we'll look forward to this evening...Speak soon...
