Mixed emotions...

My house was full of mixed emotions this morning. The decision was taken, the horse has to retire... It deserves to retire...

It was a short ride, with a lot of ups and a few downs. He gave everything he had and at least went out with a great win, a well deserved win! Unfortunately, because of injuries, he could only show a few times how good he really was.

At the end of the day it is about the horse and not about us....

Thank you very much Heart of a Lion for giving us so much joy! For giving us the experience of winning the Gold Vase and being the Champion you are! Thank you very much Mr. Dickerson, Mr. Nedstadt and Mr. Adams for giving us the opportunity to give this horse the retirement he deserves.

I hope you ready boy, recover, get better and lets enjoy life to the max. You deserve it!

I will! Reading some of the stories, it scares you....

But Heart of a Lion will not leave my sight! He stays with me and my wife till the end of time. He will definitely not race again

He has done his job. As said, time to enjoy life to the max.
