R100 000 Up For Grabs On The Double
Date: 25 August 2015
World Sports Betting have announced they will award a R100,000 bonus to any
horse who can win the last two legs of the Super Supreme Series, the
R250,000 G3 August Stakes over 1200m
to be run on the Vaal sand this Saturday August 29 and the Gr 2 R1 million
Supreme Cup sponsored by SAP and to be run over 1450m on the Vaal sand on
September 26.
Before the Super Supreme Series began World Sports Betting put up a
R500,000 bonus to any horse who could win all three legs. However, when
they discovered the winner of the first leg, the Louis Goosen-trained
Varbration, who won the R135,000 World Sports Betting Sprint over 1000m at
Flamingo Park on August 8, had been scratched from the August Stakes, they
generously put up the R100,000 bonus for the last two legs in order to
provide an incentive and keep the public’s interest in the two events at a
maximum.
There are some eyecatching entries in the August Stakes, who have the
potential to do the double and thereby claim the bonus. They include
Bouclette Top, a classy sort who has been livened up by blinkers, Isphan,
who has mixed it with some of the best sprinters around and has won over
1450m, Captain Haddock, who was impressive over the August Stakes course
and distance last time and has won twice over a mile, Olympic Owen, who has
won a Gr 3 over 1100m and has gone close over 1400m, Mootahadee, who has
won on all-weather surfaces from 1200m up to 1400m, Jade Vine, who has won
over the course and distance of both the August Stakes and the Supreme Cup,
Roman Carnival, who is effective from 1200m up to a mile and has taken to
the sand like a duck to water, and Olympic Bolt, who would likely prefer
further than both races but it will be interesting to see how he goes in
his first attempt at 1200m in the August Stakes. Phumelela Gaming would
like to remind everyone that the final field for the August Stakes will be
published by midday today.

If I were WSB I would offer 30% extra on the dbl to punters. Leg 1 7-1 leg 2 7-2
Final price 25/1 add 30% is 31/1. Punters might enjoy that

Was talking about the final leg? no idea of runners and antepost rules mean punters lose their stakes so in the long run would be negative press
