Why are our horses such a problem?

Whenever we are reminded that horses are only flesh and blood, you have to wonder if overseas horses are somehow different?
between todays racing and yesterdays debacle at Fairview ,you have to wonder why we have more of the following issues a day/week than all the overseas racing(combined) that we watch,in 3-6 months,or more!
a)fractious horses at the pens refusing to load ,bursting through etc etc
b)horses bolting ,with or without rider
b)horses scratched at the start unsound
c)horses having to be re-shoed
etc etc.

Can anybody shed any light on why our horses are so much more problematic?

Certainly more horses scratched at the starts, not sure about gate problems being much different?

I blame the trainers RE the gate problems, instead of withdrawing stall certificates from horses maybe we should start banning and fining trainers?

Maybe we only see the best .....................I think I have not seen more than 3 horses burst through the stall overseas, over the years!
I also don't think I have seen more than a a dozen ,over the same period ,scratched for failing to load

Bob ,what is rare there ,seems to be just an everyday occurrence here!

The boxes are springed differently I think Rob

In SA it's easier to burst through than say the UK
Instant scratching in the UK for coming through the front

I wonder if it's not be because we as South Africans are such an aggressive people? Animals pick up on vibes and just maybe some animals pick this up and behave accordingly?
