"Group" RESULTS - 'Sunday' 18th May Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.4 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, despite a late withdrawal and 5.3% reduction, so all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, and so the drift more than justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'...........
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.8, and with drifting to around 3.3 on arrival as if a leg had fallen off, we never see a sniff of our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a very nice priced winner (returned 9/4 sp), but more importantly a very good leave........................
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 2.8 on arrival and getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all again, so another race for all to avoid. The runner made a late mistake which probably cost him the race, so 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 4th runner we wanted 2.45, and with being a very well supported 1.97 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.97. The lay broke well, and won well, so the market spot on and made us layers look idiots. The way it goes....
The 5th runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.46 on arrival and not coming down to our lay prie at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was cruising and looking sure to win, but then the jockey took the wrong course!! speechless, and 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 3.65 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 3.5. The price then went back the other way, and out to our own price of 3.8 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade came in 2nd, and so a good result.........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.36 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 8th runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.64 on arrival and although there was a late withdrawal and no time for the market to reform, it didn't matter as the price never came anywhere near our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd, so a surprise result and 'one that got away in hindsight'..................
The 9th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.8 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner (returned 15/8 sp), but more importantly a good leave.......
The 10th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.84 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger, we yet again never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid another race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner (returned 5/2 sp), but more importantly another good leave...............
The 11th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.15 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.15. The lay was beaten and so a good result.................
The 12th and final runner we wanted 2.9, and with drifting to around 3.1 on arrival and not dropping back down to us, it was a race to avoid for race to race players. The runner came in 2nd after a battle, and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr!. Early traders happy though........
WELL PLAYED...................(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won - 4 from the first 10 (40%) went and won - so quite awkward for us, but we all get the wages and so well played guys)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 1 target.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 4th runner, and after a poor start they fought back to hit their targets on their 4th lay (the 11th runner) and so end the session winning 1 target...
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 1.97 max, but a poor result see them go behind early.......They then had a 'free' lay (the 6th runner) that bought a tiny profit.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 2.2 max, and a good result see them break level.............They then had their 3rd lay (the 11th runner) at 3.15, and a good result see them win a very big chunk of their targets................That's where it ended and so they win between 0.57 - 1 target...

That's where it ended.
Overall result. Win 0.57 of a target at worst.
********************************************
Traders had to concede a little on the 4th runner at 1.97, but all others see them win a bit or break level, so all in all they finshed around levels...
So a tricky day with some strange results, drifters, and gambles, but we played it as best we could and got a result, so well played guys. Have a good evening and speak in the morning....
Marc.
