anyone notice Dynamite Mike changed stables to Herman Brown in Durban, plus change of ownership. Due to run this week end in Durban.

Dynamite Mike has joined Herman Brown at his Summerveld stables. The KZN Guineas winner was bought out by one of his shareholders, Ravi Padayachee and now races under Mrs S Padayachee.

SAHorseracing.COM spoke to Assistant trainer Frank Robinson about the move, "He's been with us for some time now and we are running him on Sunday. He is working very well and has already beaten Jay Peg in the Guineas last year. so the form is there."

"The ultimate aim is to send him to Dubai," said Robinson.

Dynamite Mike shot to prominence when he beat a quality field in the KZN Guineas last year. He is a six time winner but hasn't reached the heights of his 3 year old career. However, although he has only won once since the Guineas, he hasn't run too many bad races subsequent to that effort, especially if one considers that he has run in group company. He was formerly trained by Mike Azzie.

Ravi is an advocate in KZN. For personal reasons he has decided to race Dynamite Mike in his wifes colours

My personal view ( ELVISISKING ) is that this horse is not good enough for Dubai. I think his win over Jay Peg was a flash in the pan. Jay Peg would give D.M. carrots should they meet again - which is highly unlikely.
Some horses are good 2 y.o. or good 3.y.o. and some train on - others don't.

I think this horse is overated. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong. Sunday will be a good start.

what say you guys out there ?

i think you are all jealous and that he is good enough to win in Dubai ,Herman just needs to learn how to prepare a horse for the dirt but given a 4 month break on his way to Dubai he will be very competitive and will win a carniva race ,he ill not be competitve on either of the 2 big nights but a win during te carnival definetly.
