"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 20th May Workings...þ

Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.9, and with getting around 2.8/82 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.82 max. The price then went the other way, and out to our own price of 3.2 and beyond, before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade looked in trouble, but ended up winning a battle, so fair play, glad of the drift, and the way it goes....
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 4.4 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified and 'one that gets away in hindsight'...
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival and getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price again and so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though...
The 4th runner we wanted 3.0, but a non runner and 9.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.82. The price had drifted to around 3.1 on arrival and then came down to us and beyond, so we had a lay at 2.82 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result..........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.9, and with getting that on arrival, we had a lay at 2.9. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.2 and beyond, so a chance for a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result...
The 6th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 1.99 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a shocker and so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'...
The 7th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 9.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.2. The price was a well supported 1.94 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 1.94 max. The lay looked in trouble, but very annoyingly dug deep to win a battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...
The 8th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 3.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.54. The price had drifted to around 2.96 on arrival and never came back down to us, so a race to avoid for race to racers. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though...
The 9th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.88 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price again and so a race to avoid for race to race players. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner (returned 11/4 sp), but more importantly a good leave...
The 10th and final runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 2.92 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.92. The lay looked in trouble, but won a battle, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED......(4 from the 10 (40%) went and won, which is fair enough, but it was the drifters that made us struggle today. No big deal though and we move on to this evening)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 2.6 targets.......They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a big battle with wonners and drifters, they ended up conceding 2.6 targets after their 5th and final lay (the 10th runner)...
'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief.......They then had their 1st lay at 2.82 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets..........Then came another 'free' lay (the 5th runner) that bought a tiny proft........Then came their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 1.94 max, but a poor result see them give back.......They then had another 'free' lay that only bought relief.......Then came their 3rd lay (the 10th and final runner), but a poor result see them go down 1.3 targets on a frustrating session...

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys and good work...
So a frustrating sort of session with winners and drifters in particular being a pain in the arse! However, no big damage done and we'll look ahead to this evening's fayre. Speak soon...
Marc.

Morning.
The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows...
2.10 Musselburgh. MULLGLEN (2.
Our price 11/5 (3.2) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.9 or under. *Please note that more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*
2.20 Beverley. BAHAMA BAILEYS (3.5)
Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.3 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he has a tendency to race prominently in his races*
2.30 Southwell. QUEEN'S SPEECH (3.25)
Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.2 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
2.50 Beverley. HIPPOLYTUS (2.98)
Our price 23/10 (3.3) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.0 or under. *Please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*
3.00 Southwell. DADO MUSH (2.
Our price 11/5 (3.2) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.9 or under.
3.10 Musselburgh. PROUD LINUS (1.82)
Our price 10/11 (1.9) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.66 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
3.40 Musselburgh. KASUMI (2.3)
Our price 13/8 (2.625) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.32 or under.
3.50 Beverley. YES ONE (2.54)
Our price 19/10 (2.9) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.6 or under.
4.20 Beverley. EXCAPE (2.62)
Our price 21/10 (3.1) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.8 or under.
4.50 Beverley. ASTRODOME (2.82)
This one from the 'Sir Mark Prescott' barn, and so very very tough to price up with not knowing the horses true ability, so I think it best to leave this one alone for today with being low down in the order, and the possibilities of being an important runner in our session. So win, or lose we'll let it go.
5.00 Southwell. DIRICULOUS (3.25)
Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:00am.
That's our work for this afternoon then. We have enough about us to warrant going into battle, but it's still a tough looking day, so discipline to the maximum as always, and of course take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
