Team Valor buys half sister to Songbird

Wide Range, an 11-year-old half sister to 2015 champion 2-year-old filly Songbird, has been purchased privately in Thailand by Team Valor International, which plans to breed the mare this spring.

Wide Range, by Mineshaft, is to be flown to Chicago Feb. 13, Team Valor said in a Feb. 8 release. She was purchased for $17,000 by Kimchuan Techatanakitlert at the 2010 Keeneland November breeding stock sale and was exported to Thailand.

Team Valor said the mare, in foal to English Colony, will go to Denali Stud and be bred back to either Animal Kingdom  , who won the 2011 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and 2013 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) for Team Valor, or Medaglia d'Oro  , sire of Songbird.

Prior to leaving for Asia, Wide Range in 2010 produced the Run Away And Hide   coltMico Margarita, who won six of 22 starts including the Carry Back Stakes (gr. III). He also placed in the Amsterdam Stakes (gr. II) and earned $480,251.

Do they have horseracing in Thailand? It seems they do. And a nice looking course too:

Correct me if I am wrong but do they have gambling in Thailand?
I have never stopped in Bangkok but all other places I visited I have never seen a tote or bookies office or any one armed bandits ?
