Man United v Bournemouth match called off

A package found in the stadium, game called off. Now what happens as the rules state that all matches must be played at the same time on the last day of the season. Safety has to come first

Appears that there is a mobile phone device attached to a gas pipe with wires, yet to be 100% confirmed.

a fan went for a pee before the match and spotted a dodgy package. He informed the stewards who then called in the police who then informed the stewards to remove the fans from the ground. It now comes out from the Police that it was not a viable device so it could not have exploded. They took the best possible action by removing all the fans out of the ground

The device recovered was a training device left behind by a private training company.

Police have confirmed a device which prompted Old Trafford to be evacuated in a bomb scare was a TRAINING DEVICE left behind after a drill.
Manchester United security staff found a mobile phone with wires attached to a gas pipe in a men’s toilet cubicle on floor 5 of the Sir Alex Ferguson stand.
The device was detonated by controlled explosion after the match was abandoned - but tonight police announced it was a "training device" accidentally left behind after a training exercise.
Greater Manchester Police added that the device had been left by a "private company" - which has not yet been identified.
The discovery came only four days after it was revealed that dissident Irish republican groups are again plotting terrorist attacks on the mainland.
On Thursday, Home Secretary Theresa May raised the dissident republican threat – which is rated differently from that of IS and other terror groups – from ‘moderate’ to ‘substantial’.
