Bliksem, between what Mark and Goose have said in the last week, is this what our racing has become ? How are you going to control this ? What happens if a July winner gets " the juice" 4hrs before winning ? Can you point a finger ? Do the trainers have to employ security guards for all their horses ? :(
Put up 60 cameras in each stable.....

And then you get the course vet that takes the blood of the wrong horse before the race.

It's sad but security /cameras is the way to go but what a shame that's it's coming to this and it's just not racing it's the monitoring of staying alive not just the odd jealous attack or betting coup

Plus I did not even mention the financial implications

Hell that's bad.Do you think the person just wanted to get the Sham yard in trouble or did they do it so they could make money backing the horse?

The shams are still lucky they can afford a private investigation into this, what about small stables that can't do anything not even pay the stakes back, and still loose the client as well,

I think its about time, just a pity cameras have to be fitted privately and are not part and parcel of the operator's duty of care both to is supplier and to its client.

I would hasten to add though that having cameras fitted by the operator will not be so well accepted by some……after all camera's don't discriminate.

Cameras not a bad thing you can check on how the grooms treat your horses as well.

Easy .Phumelela installed cameras to see who comes and goes in our complexes of 12 barns .When asked to see footage , remark Not working ..If perimeter and security gates were manned correctly and People entering complex signed in correctly and security cards were introduced when I pointed these problems more than 4 years ago..Gold circle has their security down to a fine art..Knowing this from being involved with New Turf..If trainer not at stables you can't get in or out . Take a horse out without the relevant paper work ..

Mark the problem could be the person with the card in hand, just saying. I think a combination of systems is needed as highlighted by you.

Hong Kong and Mauritius have it down to a fine art. On easter Friday this year i drove around summer veld without having to go through to much effort. It was 15H00 and not trainers were there , i could have done anything.
