KZN is the new Mecca for the Cape it seems. Strange considering Phum controls Cape Racing.

Perhaps it's the world-class training facilities at Summerveld as opposed to the straight only Milnerton track surrounded by housing estates?

And the added choice of poly and turf tracks and the easy pickings like taking candy from a child?

Training for breeders and big owners the bloodstock they bring here must be telephone nos. out of the budget of the locals and syndicates in KZN.

Yet the victor at Scottsville over the weekend Vaughn Marshall was a KZN trainer who defected to the Cape some years ago and is not in an urgent need to return to his roots it seems.

He must have been bowled over by the mountain and the icy waters of Clifton, Blouberg and Sandy Bay.
