Please be advised that due to the demand for turf races in KwaZulu-Natal, Gold Circle has decided to move the racemeeting scheduled for Greyville Racecourse (Poly) on Sunday, 23 October 2016, to Scottsville Racecourse.

All good, but I wonder why ? Why now in the off season a "need for grass", doesnt make sense. :huh: ?

Neigh, I agree it does not make sense but is it possible that horses are been prepared in Durbs to raid thus the reason for more grass racing! OR IS THERE MORE TO!

RP, the reason I haven't been commenting on racing and GC decisions in particular are that there are outsiders that know a lot more than me about what happens here so maybe you should ask them. It has been a pleasure not getting my blood pressure up when you know you are right but are told you are wrong. B) :lol:

I am no horse owner, but why was must the bread and butter horses who makes up the majority of the population not have the privilege to race on grass no matter what part of the season it is :unsure: When its on the Poly its a problem, when its on the grass, its a problem. You damned if you do, damned if you dont....

I do not believe it is a scenario of "you are damned if you do & damned if dont..."

Let's cut out the guessing and pose the following questions;
1. Why is there no transparency?
2. Why does GC not know how many horses are in training in KZN?
3. Why does GC not know the MR's of the horses racing in KZN?
3. Why does a trainer start the First Timer comments & not the Racing Manager at GC who is earning a salary?
4. What program is the change to grass part of?
5. Is there a program for more grass racing in KZN especially when preparing for the main season?
6. Why just an announcement and no plan or is this how we race in KZN?....off the cuff

All speculation is easily removed with transparency and communication, you decide as an owner, punter and trainer if this situation exists.

It is amazing how quickly a "name & shame" list of trainers is released and yet the industry is yet to hear from the two Operators CEO's regarding anything at all let alone a plan to make horse racing on the whole transparent in SA.

Why isnt the poly good enough to prep a horse ? When we were shouting for more grass before the Natal season to prep our horses..........WTF were they then and how many excuses did we get from management ?
Is it now the right people asking for more grass ? :angry:

Gents to be true and thanks to that kind gentleman there is no f in demand for more grass racing. The grass is going to get its ass treated with some rolling and sprinkling.

Come GC issue the damn statement?
