Hollywood, PLEASE EXPLAIN....
8 years 7 months ago
I tried to take a place bet in Saint Cloud (France). I could not take fixed places as you do not price up the runners, so why the option is even visable? baffles me. Alas, there is another option, the open place. There is 18 runners. No scratchings. My horse comes 4th, im in
... NO, im not.... Firstly, since when does 18runners not constitute 4 places? (Could not find it in your t+c's).. Secondly, if you are not going to price up, why even have fixed options??? CAUSE YOU CANT USE THEM!!!!

Are you living your life or waiting to die?

That only applies to UK and Ireland. France only pays 3 places for any race that has more than 8 runners as the pools are commingled with the French Tote.

Rule is home country rules apply, otherwise everyone would have different results for the same event.

Hi Karma
Just to confirm our rules:
- We only pay 4 fixed odds places when there is 14 or more carded runners
- When paying open places or tote places - we pay according to the tote dividends declared, and go according to the host track's rules. If they only pay 3 places, and only declare 3 place dividends - we will only pay 3.
- This is in our T&Cs:
With effect from Thursday 1 October 2015, ALL open bets on racing shall be subject to the SAFTOTE terms and conditions and paid in accordance with the Saftote dividend.
- With regards to the fixed odds place option being available when there is no betting, we will take this up with our developers. The option is currently there so should we price up, the places will be available. But if there is no betting, it would be better if we didn't show it. We will address this.

Dev, from what i have seen all bookmakers that price up on France, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore have their Fixed Odds prices almost identical to their Tote Odds. Normally only in their feature races that the prices are different. When Hollywood does price up on the venues mentioned, more often than not its similar to the Tote Odds. Its recently Hollywood takes ages to price up for Foreign venues.
Another thing is that Hollywood is not pricing up on the Ireland Meetings and when the Starting Price is given its 1 point below the Tote Dividend. There is going to be drama one day when a persons strikes a big Tote Win but the Fixed Odds Price is given because you have set a precedent by giving the Tote Odds as SP....

Hi Naresh
Thanks for this feedback. I will send it onto the horse racing team and ask them to look into this.
Thanks
