“He didn’t travel very well and when he got off the float he didn’t want to touch his food and didn’t eat at all for 4 days prior to race. I said to Anthony (Delpech) ‘don’t even hit him, let him drop out, learn how to corner on the left hand bend, let him run on and have a learning curve.’ It was an absolute exercise for him. He actually lost a lot of weight prior to the race, but he’s built up nicely and is getting better and better every single day." - Azzie

Shouldn't be allowed in my book, horse should wear special colours or something if it is the case to warn punters. What a knob.
Breaks all the rules in the book
That's what I thought - but nothing will be done? And they wonder why racing is dying... Say you were a casual punter who saw Abashiri win the triple crown etc and you go and put a few rand on it for that race? And how ironic it's owned by the guy who threw his toys out the cot at the world being unfair at the July.

Morning from a very windy, sunny Cape Town.
Will any other clanners be at the Queens plate tomorrow ?

Kenilworth Friday PA:
Race 2: Mangrove (9), improving sort which is running on after three starts, Pride Rock (10) ran on from a wide draw and most consistent form in the race, Figaro (4) also improving and good scope from breeding from top stable with a good draw.
Race 3: Bushy Park (5) and Field of Light (12) will both be in the finish....formlines behind Ngaga are strong and both have huge scope with 3 and 2 runs behind them...good draws ad well.
Race 4: Black Cat Back (3) and Candid both ran 2 lengths behind Dancer which I believe is the strongest form in the race...should survive the PA.
Race 5: Wealthy (4), 3rd run in the Cape....2 promising starts in the Cape. Still well weighted and 2 kgs better off than the last race he ran formline. I will banker it, with respect for the 6 Cape Fling who is undefeated and improving.
Race 6: Jetano (4), Louisiana (6), Anglet, and Qing (1)....very tough race with Anglet down in class and running on. Jetano and Louisiano are running on. And Qing was well touted as a decent horse only 3 runs back.
Race 7: Carry on Alice (1), say no more...will be in the places as a minimum if not win by 2 lengths at least.
Race 8: Kirumbu (5) a good winning chance...decent weight, draw, formline, being backed down in recent starts, always within a length at the finish and still not yet penalised heavily by the handicapper. Cardinal Call (10) runs with a paper weight and seems to be keeping up with the increase in merit ratings. Ovar (1) highest merit rated a deserves to be favourite and should be in the shake up.
PA:
4-9-10/5-12/1-3/4/1-2-4-6/1/1-5-10 = R 144 for a Full Unit

Agree, must be a massive runner off that weight and will appreciate the 2000m.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

STUNNING SEED E/W - J/T combo is fantastic (5 wins from 8 recent matches)
COPPER FORCE - changed stables but the change up to Fourie in the jock department has my attention. I'm bankering
CAPE FLING could be a Kannemeyer's big horse for the season but he is untested at this level. He did win well last time.
ANGLET has raced against the best of her class with distinction. She has earned double the stakes of any other horse in this field. Gets a plum draw and the Jockey upgrade is worth many lengths.
I think she is a massive runner.
BEACH GODDESS and VISUALITY should be included in quartets.
POWER GRID - better this trip (2 wins and a second from 3 starts) .. looks progressive worth another chance.
