If one wanted to get money into another account its easy to make a arrangement with a breader lets say to pay 2 million for a horse thats worth less then a million, but on the auction you bid to 3 million ,pay the money and recieve one million back to a account that nobody is aware of. Change stolen money for clean money, not saying this is what he did but that would be a good way to do it.Except if they did forensic audits on every horse bought or sold, every breaders books and accounts aswell as trainers etc.

Absolutely. Everything should be turned inside out tossed around with every stone turned. Well that is what i would do if given the task for an investigation.

Breeders probably manipulated the situation by bidding up when he was buying..
Word is at the Kzn sale he allowed his family to choose anything that they liked in the ring.
Remember if the amount is allegedly at 500 bar..he did not spend anywhere close to that in racing over the past few years.. he probably still has a fair stash frozen or not. .
Racing was a huge ego trip for him.
I'm sure The Azzies made a few rands too..why would they not but obviously the ripple effect has set in now for them probably had to cut back on staff etc.. if I'm not mistaken Frikie Greyling joined the azzie stable not so long ago..

I always thought it was crazy to send Pylon over and a waste of money.

Agree with WarrenL ,
Very disappointing with Sporting Post' lack of coverage . Surely this is a worthy news story !

.....but this is still not horse racing news.....what he "allegedly" did with the money may "allegedly" open up a can of worms that could "allegedly" cause irreparable damage to the very core of the industry...as already "alleged" by several posters here.....why further sensationalize this saga when it could "allegedly" cause much more damage....
