Cradock Part 2 - ABC in the Doghouse

Due to the draconian policy of the racing operators Phumelela and Gold Circle I cannot buy the Sporting Post so I have not seen the article.

I understand however, RA Director Derek Brugman has something to say about contributions made to the ABC forum concerning the recent Cradock controversy.

Anyone got the article or a comment on it...?

" Brugman expressed reservations about the controversy, claiming it was a result of various individuals, mostly on the AFRICANBETTING CLAN website, trying to have a go at him personally."

I think these people are not up to the concept of a forum. Good or bad they create entusiasm and interest in our sport.

Funny comments, obviously he feels someone was having a go.

Thanks York, someone else has re-typed more of the article which I have posted below:

*****************************************************************

Article :

Two weeks ago at Turfontein, Cradock, an unraced Jet Master filly, made her debut and finished third. Prior to the race, two different statements were made by connections regarding the filly's chance in the race. On Under Starter's Orders the assistant trainer claimed the yard would be thrilled with a cheque. By contrast, part owner Derek Brugman told on course presenter Dave Mollett that they fancied her, although it was a bit short for her, and that he had had a bet, which was relayed to the punters. The filly then ran a well beaten third.
I contacted both Geoff Woodruff and Derek Brugman in order to find out why such seemingly contrasting statements had been made. Brugman told me that while he had a bet, she was no good thing, as it was too short for her and that he had informed Mollet of that.

He also stated that the comments by the aforementioned assistant trainer, regarding a cheque could have referred to a cheque for first, second or third place. Brugman expressed reservations about the controversy, claiming it was a result of certain individuals, mostly on the Africanbettingclan website, trying to have a go at him personally. According to Dave Mollett, Brugman specifically stated, via sms, that 1000 meters would be to short for the filly, but that he hoped for a good run and had had a bet.

Interesting to note that Tellytrack was happy to diseminate to its viewers two differing views, leading to total confusion.

Amazing how these 'high-handed individuals' try and wriggle their way out of their predicament by blaming Africanbettingclan and some of its posters for having a personal go.
Tellytrack has become a platform for the establishment buddies to look after each other, be it for spamming, promoting their websites, showing loyalty and favours to one another and when they are shown up, they cry fowl.
Show the replay, when Molly and Basel were gushing at this RA director/bookmaker's 'transparency', if need be.
And well done to Sarah and the Sporting Post for telling the story.
