If Anton Marcus begins riding 53, 54kg hereof then surely he will be riding Edict of Nantes, which is a pointer for the Durban July

While I think edict of Nante and Al Sahem are clearly top horses I was pleasantly surprised by Horizon. I didn't think he was going to be any danger to the top horses but he is definitely improving and I wouldn't be surprised if continues to do so. Likely a danger come the 4yo season where he ends up receiving weight. However, with the amount of luck you need in the July I actually think he is a contender whereas before today I couldn't see it.
Likewise I think Gimme six confirmed her improvement . Safe Harbour...really deserves a big race too.
Zodiac ruler had some excuse at the start I guess, but the rest of those having July hopes can't expect any favours from selectors
Guinness looked like the G1 winner he was up until about the last 200m. He was carrying some weight though . Had originally said he might be worth following again but lol...I saw now he is retiring to be a lead pony...so a bunch of horses will be following him:)

Even worse is that if I had taken a chance and put lady of the house as my pick which is what I had a punt on I would also have been closer to the top. All in all today has been a good day and a day I will never forget!
