Betting: Cash betting of more than Rs 2,000 will be prohibited
A tough blow for the betting sector. Companies and bookmakers would no longer be allowed to accept cash bets of more than Rs 2,000. Those wishing to bet more will have to have an account with bookmakers and betting companies. Amendments will be made to the GRA Act. A decision aimed at combating money laundering in this sector especially after recent drug-related cases.
On the other hand, the companies and other licensees should obligatorily inform the GRA of any suspicious transaction in the middle of the betting.
The law will be amended to this effect.

So if someone wants to back Rupees4000, he just takes two bets with two different bookies.
