Why? If you don't mind me asking Frodo. You're a long time horse player so I'm really curious why you don't give it a bash. Are there not more overlays in exotic bets than win bets?

In agreement with most posts, stick to what has worked for you in the past, maybe spend less money or don't play until the calibre of horses stepping out, gets better.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

It will be a bit cheaper if u banker the last 2 favs and make it a pick 4

Plus you might have the option of trading a bit with your bookie if you get a couple of roughies in the early legs

Good punting

Lucky here are some tips I use when putting together a P6
I always play the field in the last leg, you don't want to survive 5 legs and go out in the last leg, if you can afford it also incl scratching in the last leg, should the fav wins you do double up.

never banker a short priced favorite, keep in mind fav only win 33% of the times, so when everybody goes out you still want to be in, find the horse or outsider that have the best chance of upsetting the fav.

Rather go for a smaller % and catch it, than big % and lose it.
If budget allows it incl scratching here and there so you can double up if fav wins.

I sometimes also play the field in the first leg,but not often but it sometimes happens that the field of such nature it is difficult to find outright winner, it has paid of dividends in the past, were outsider wins and you then only have to survive 4 legs.

Also look for outsiders with the best chance to win the race.
When I look for outsiders I sometime look at trainers and jockey combinations, currently for example if Ryan Munger is riding for Mr. Maroun I include the horse irrespective of form, they have a good strike rate at the moment.
Also look for stables coming into form, example R Francis has had a dry spell but recently he had a winner and his horses are starting to place, his horses normally wins at long prices, have won a few P6 where his horses won at long prices.
Another stable that is also picking up now is Roy Magner, one of the stables that when they hit form they can have two or three winners per meeting.
